The famous cuckoo clock originated in southwestern Germany in the Black Forest, which offered much inspiration for each intricate design. While it is not clear who the first crafter of cuckoo clock was, due to different fables that have been passed down the generations, it is undeniable that these unique clocks brought a magical element of fairy tales into the home.

Mechanical cuckoo clocks are run by small weights. Overtime they move slowly down and need to be moved back up by pulling a chain either daily, on a 24-hour clockwork, or weekly on an 8-day clockwork.
