Invented in the late 18th Century, regulator clocks work with the weight of a swinging pendulum and were designed to improve the accuracy of time-keeping. These clocks became the favourite device for telling time in many official locations like train terminals in the Northern hemisphere. They are also often used in clock shops as a standard time to which all other clocks are set.
