Analogue Clocks
- Show time with hands that move around a clock face.
- The short hand shows the hour, and the long hand shows the minutes.
- Often have numbers 1 to 12 in a circle.
- Example: A round wall clock in a classroom.
Digital Clocks
- Show time using numbers only (digits).
- Usually written in hours and minutes (like 7:45).
- Can be in 12-hour format (with AM/PM) or 24-hour format (like 19:45).
- Example: The time on a phone, microwave, or TV.
Key Difference:
- An analogue clock tells time with moving hands on a dial.
- A digital clock tells time with numbers on a screen.
Both do the same job—help us keep track of time—but digital clocks are often easier for beginners, while analogue clocks help children understand the passing of hours and minutes.
